Starved Rock's "History-On-Horseback" Getaway Package $190 plus taxes for 2 people Take a one-hour horse ride back in time, through Illinois Valley hills and fields and creeks while listening to fascinating tales of local history and nature. Visit a Civil War cemetery (on-site) and enjoy a Starved Rock boxed lunch at Cedar Creek Ranch Lake. When your ride is over, come back to the Lodge for a relaxing swim in the pool then grab a bite to eat in the Main Dining Room or at the Back Door Lounge. This package includes an overnight stay for 2 people (Sunday through Thursday), horseback rides for 2 people and 2 boxed lunches. Each additional horseback ride costs $25 per rider. Hike into History Package Have you had an adventure lately? Take one NOW. Reserve your room or cabin at Starved Rock Lodge on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday night and take a guided hike the following morning (Tues, Wed and Thursdays only) at 9am from the Lobby (Rain or shine). When you get back from your hike - enjoy lunch in the Dining Room. This package includes your room for two people, a $15.00 Dining Room Coupon to be used toward your lunch and your guided hike. Canoe-the-Fox Getaway Monday through Thursday nights only. Discover the pleasure of the Fox River canoeing during your stay at Starved Rock Lodge. Package is available Monday through Thursday nights from 6/1/2010 until 9/30/2010 (weather permitting). Take a quick drive to the canoe -launch along Route 80. Once you nose your canoe into the river, the awesome view of the trees and flowers and sandstone cliffs rising from the riverbanks while you are paddling along will take your breath away. Jump in for a swim or just float and enjoy the scenery, then head back to the Lodge for a restful sleep. This $145 (plus tax) package includes an overnight stay for 2 people at the Lodge and fees for 2 people to rent one canoe, safety equipment, paddles and transport from C & M Canoe Rental to the launch site.
