Just up the bluff from Starved Rock State Park Visitor Center is Starved Rock Lodge. Built in the 1930s with recyled lumber, the focal point of the Lodge is the Great Hall. You will also find a hotel (with comfortable Lodge rooms and cabins in the woods), a dining room, cafe, The Back Door Lounge, an indoor pool for guests and a Veranda which overlooks the scenic Illinois River below.

We make amazing things happen at the Rock...

...Check out the Artists of the Valley 2010 fine art show video from February 28, 2010.

Enjoy scenes from our 2nd annual Native American Drum Circle, held in the Great Hall at Starved Rock Lodge on February 28, 2010. Ojibway healer Ron Kanutski spoke and drummed throughout the afternoon, and afterward Bill "Conquering Bear" Buchholtz mesmerized the crowd with his Native American flute and piano performance.

If you've never been here before, watch our "Beginner's Guide to Starved Rock" video.

Winter is here! Don't fear the cold -- just dress in layers and get out there to see amazing waterfalls which have frozen into ice sculptures in our canyons. It is a wonderful experience to look up and see an eagle soaring above you or watch white-tailed deer run through the woods. These are daily occurences here at Starved Rock.

Our "Paint the Rock Pink" Breast Cancer Hike was an amazing success, and we are doing it again on Sunday, September 12. Sign up at the Back Door Lounge; Donate $10; then hike to the top of the Rock for a very good cause--breast cancer research for the cure.
